Like I've said before, I love London soooo much, its one of the best cities you'll ever go to!Its beautiful, has great west end shows, awesome shopping and its just romantic!Ethan's & my hotel were right next to Covent Garden which is was super great cos theres just shops, shops & more shops as you make your way to Oxford Circus. To be honest, I am very very VERY used to London, I love it loads even though I'm used to it, so we skipped all the attractions like Madame Tussauds, Aquarium, London Eye, etc. cos we've been to those places enough and we just stuck to sightseeing + shopping. Very wallet friendly too = win
Actually visiting Madame Tussauds the next time we go there would be a good idea then I can camwhore with all the wax statues like I'm best mates with Robert Pattinson ;p
Okay so I got up like an hour or so before Ethan to get ready, must be so good for a dude to just skip all the fussing about with make up and go straight to gelling their hair & putting on their clothes -_- Then theres me who has more to think about after wearing my make up, like "should I really wear this romper? Its a bit too clubby, pick for me PICK FOR ME!!!!"
Forever waiting
Haha my giant crouching down to pose with me
The Cat and Giraffe :)
We had lunch then went to this place called Carnaby Street, its a little shopping area with 4 levels with boutiques, vintage shops & cute cafes, a lot of Japanese tourists kept going "Kawaii!" I'm not joking! I was quite proud to translate what it meant to Ethan as if to show I know Japanese, fyi apart from saying arigato gozaimus(?) and kawaii, thats pretty much all I know, hahaha, oh wait I also know hentai and bukkake, go google! ;)I'm very sure a lot of perverse guys would know them 2.
Carnarby Street!A MUST visit for shopaholic tourists cos the stuff in the shops are soooo pretty!I could have splashed out on the vintage stuff cos they had such a typical hellcat look and the fact that it is REAL vintage is just great to know. Its actually quite easy to differentiate real vintage to vintage inspired clothing, you can tell from the materials, labels, the way the zip is sown in, etc. so if you want something unique, you know where to go!Carnarby street!
You can tell I was trying my best to get a few good shots lol.
Theres a shop(I forgot the name) on the top level that has loads of awesome brands like Iron Fist, Vans, Hell Bunny, you know all those scene Hot Topic brands. I would have loved it a few years back but I no longer want to own shoes from Iron Fist lol.
I saw this really cute shop there, it had loads of cute household stuff, very ideal for students who live at uni or girls who live on their own!The bedroom stuff are awesome too.
I wasn't allowed to take photos inside but they can't stop me from taking photos through their window!
There's a reason why I took a photo of that thing with the woman on it cos it served some sort of purpose but....I forgot what it is -_-
There's only ONE Abercrombie & Fitch in England which is in London so we went to check it out!Its a whole 2 level building with a half naked guy at the front to welcome you. To be honest, they couldn't pick any more gay looking guys!No chest hair = gay look!
Me with a naked Ambercrombie&Fitch statue.
Got an evil look from the sales assisant who pointed at the "No cameras" sign.-_-
P.s. My top is from Topshop which Carissa got for me, yay thank you honey <3
The interior is designed like a victorian mansion. We didn't get anything, its all the SAME as Hollister's. I know they're under the same company but honestly, all the clothes are literally the same as Hollister's. The only and I mean ONLY difference is that instead of the eagle logo, its an antelope logo. So you're basically paying more for a different logo. They should have a different type of New York Cityish collection since Hollister's go for the Californian look. Go on their respective websites and compare, then you'll totally get what I mean by they literally have the same stuff.
cos
TOPSHOP IS THERE DUHHHHH.
I know Topshop is like in every corner of England but the one in Oxford Circus is THE Topshop, its the main flagship one with 3 floors and it has cafes, a salon, personal styling services, personal shopping assistant, etc. Awesome eh?
HAHAHA HAPPYGIRL.COM
I was literally pointing at everything like that lol, my boyfriend found it funny and made sure he took a photo the next time I pointed at something -_-
So.....I kinda spent like 2 and a half hours in Topshop but with good reason! If you really want to look at most of the stuff WITHOUT trying on clothes, thats how long you'll need in there. I really wanted to try loads of clothes on because this is the only store that has every single Topshop collection line, even the online Topshop store does not carry all the collections that they actually have. This store has an awesome Vintage range as well! I didn't try anything on though, the waiting line to try something on was as mad as queueing for a concert but I usually tend to do it old school style sometimes- just try it on in the store in front of a mirror without going into the changing rooms(without taking off my own clothes, duh!)
Although Topman had a whole floor to itself, my giraffe was done looking at the clothes in like probably half an hour so he walked around with me for that whole time :')
After Topshop, I told myself that I will limit my shopping time in each store!I felt so bad cos my boyfriend always has to put up with it and he's never complained once, which obviously made me feel guiltier than if he did complain! He liked H&M and All Saints though, so we were on par when it came to shopping in those stores cos we take as long as each other, haha, score for me!
Theres something else that tempted me in every way possible in London, something new just opened its first store in London.....
FOREVER 21!!!!!!!
(haha see what I did there)I saw loads of girls with pink Forever 21 shopping bags and I was like omg Ethan's gonna kill me but he already knew I HAD to go there lol, I only spent less than an hour there okay! Its kinda suckish cos they don't have a men's section! It had 4 levels(3 or 4 anyway) and none had men's stuff wtf! Its okay though, I know I've seen better stuff in the American's Forever 21 website, cheaper as well especially when theres free shipping if you spend more than US$100.
England, Y u no have blogshop sprees?!
We headed back to the hotel after shopping, which btw, my boyfriend also enjoyed cos he's conveniently someone who likes shopping!
Okay the way we're stood and where our hands are looks like a "do not enter here, private property" photo
Not intentional!
Got ready for dinner! No I don't have funny dots on my legs, those are my tights!Oh and I have to say I love my denim romper from Miss Selfridge! Ethan doesn't like me calling it a playsuit, he said it reminds him of baby clothes -_-
You can see that I've not taken out the tag of my Juicy Couture bag, its cos there are so many fakes around and the only way to show its real is to keep the tag on!I know I sound like a crazy girl but I've seen loads of girls here who don't take their tags off their Juicy Couture bag! This girl in school once smugly told me that I forgot to take it off, I was like F U of course I didn't forget, don't you know that its what people do with their Juicy Couture bags! Seriously, you'll see loads of fakes in England, I know they're more strict about fakes in Singapore so you don't have to be paranoid and leave the tags on.
Okay that was so out of topic lol.
So anyway, we had no idea where to have a meal at, we thought we'll just decide while making our way into the underground station. The train was full and there was only one seat so Ethan sat there and I sat on his knee, haha Donny style! It received a few scoffs from some tourists, pfft whatever, we got off the next stop anyway cos we randomly decided to have a chinese buffet in China town!Thats very typical of us, whenever we cannot decide where to eat, its either KFC, chinese buffet or chinese takeaway!lol when I used to live in Singapore, my back up place was Mcspicy, Mcwings, KFC or Chicken Rice! All chicken related lol.
We almost chose to have a meal at one of the restaurants/cafes that had Singaporean food but the thing is it will never ever be the same and they can fuck off if they want me to pay £10(SG$20) for a plate of chicken rice. Thats what you pay for 10 standard plates of chicken rice in Singapore wtf, not one! I guess cos its considered an "exotic" dish here LOL.
The chinese buffet was awesome! As long as they have egg fried rice, beef in black bean sauce, fried wings & CHILLI OIL, I'm all good! For me, the perfect chinese restaurant must have chilli oil and tiger beer, or else, its not an authentic chinese restaurant, lol, like the one in Balby is not authentic! We felt like we had to be rolled out by 20 people when we were done with the buffet, I was full to the brim and having beer with a buffet really does not help the awful bloated feeling!
We stumbled around Central London while letting the bloated feeling cool off, walking around Central London at night is just beautiful, especially river thames, its just breath taking!
This kinda reminds me of Clarke Quay.
We crossed over the bridge and sat on the field listening to a live band that was playing! The atmosphere was brilliant!Could have camped out there!
Wandered around more and walked up to the Big Ben
Its more beautiful when you're actually there
Aww this old lady is so cute, she looks like she's posing for this photo, haha she can photobomb all she wants ;) Ethan wants to be her friend.
I know its super touristy and over rated to marvel over the Big Ben but its really elegant & beautiful at night especially the way its lit up! I love it during New Years Eve before the clock strikes twelve cos the focus is on the Big Ben and the moment it strikes twelve on it, the fireworks start to set off and its such an awesome sight together with the Big Ben! All this is just from watching it from a TV screen, it'll be awesome to actually be there. I probably never will cos New Years is during winter time and I am not gonna freeze my ass off.
You can hire one of these bikes to cycle around London and it will be charged to your card on an hourly basis. It sounds cool but no thanks, I'll get the undergound.
Btw we didn't feel so full after walking for like 15 minutes after the buffet lol.
We headed back to the hotel for some drinks at the bar and the had some Shots In A Tube which Carissa got me for my birthday
Caribbean Sunset & Smooth Sensation shots!Yummmm.
That was our last night in London!
The next day .....
"I don't wanna go home!"
Coffee Ad lol
It was my best weekend break ever! One of the things I love about living in England is that there are tons of places to explore so you can go on little trips like these for a weekend, London is one of the most popular ones of course but theres so many other places that people go to like Edinburgh(2nd most popular), Stonehenge, Bath, Whitby, Cornwall, etc. Ethan told me that during his parents' days, only rich people could afford to go on holidays overseas so people just make do with going for little breaks with the boundaries of England, which doesn't sound that bad to me cos unlike them I have not lived here all my life so I will still be excited like a tourist wherever I go. Gosh I still get amused by the massive rolls of hills opposite my house!
BTW this London trip was part of Ethan's birthday present to me in addition to all the other sweet presents he got me :') I keep telling him that he shouldn't feel the need to do such things cos I'm not that type of girl and sooooo not the type that will ask or even worst, demand for stuff. At least I have one awesome thing in my life and that's enough for me. Yeayea I know I just made myself sound soooo cliche but its the truth :)
I noticed that most of my stuff in my luggage bag are pink lol! and yes I brought cos I always have this assumptions that not all hotels provide towels -_-
I hope I can move to London one day, I just love the atmosphere there!
and the shopping
<3
