LONDON CALLING Day 1

Weekend break to London, DAY #1

I had such an amazing weekend in London with my boyfriend! I love city breaks like these! London is one of my fave places, I'm so glad that its just a train ride away as well so if I've got enough moolah I can just hop on a train and I'll be there in an hourish!Whenever I go there I'm always like wow this is so much better than me flying all the way from Singapore :0

Lucky for us it was super nice and warm and no rain!Result!
Ethan and I travelled by FIRST CLASS, YAY!:D So that meant better seats, better table, less people, no chavs, privacy and free flow refreshments. Unfortunately my boyfriend couldn't take advantage of the free coffees and teas cos he just hates them, I wonder why, coffee is the fuel that keeps me going!

Note that it says First Class on my head rest #justsaying heheheheh
I have to embrace it okay, its one of the odd times we would consider first class, it was our first time away together alone so we thought, why not book our trip first class eh?

I wanted to check us in at Platform 9 3/4 on Facebook when we go to King's Cross station, I keep telling myself to do it whenever I'm in London, but of course its typical that I'll forget all about it once I'm out of the train -_- typical, typical!

Ethan booked our hotel at Travel Lodge which was conveniently located at Covent Garden!Awesome! That meant shopping from the moment we stepped out of the hotel. I super love Covent Garden, it has such unique shops and its got such a romantic city feel to it.

After dropping off our bags we wandered around Central London looking at shops, mainly at Picadilly Circus............

National Geographic shop

Okay so its kinda creepy how we keep getting excited over giraffes lol. That giraffe is £300 from the National Geographic shop!get out!

M&M's World!
4 floors of just M&Ms and related stuff! o_o

Hamlet's!
Its every kid's heaven! Its a whole shopping centre full of toys!We spent ages in there heheh. Its a lot better than Toys R Us cos its got tons of collectibles like Harry Potter exclusive stuff(gringotts bank notes, wands, swords, etc.)
Nawww! I almost bought it >.<

Guess who am I next to?

ITS HELLO KITTY!:)AWWWWW

I soon spotted the Harry Potter section so there was no skipping that area, no way!
Wands of all the popular characters! Can't believe people pay such prices for it, when you look at the box it says "made in china", so that piece of wood probably cost little to nothing to make but its made to seem so exclusive. I guess theres no other way you can actually get yourself a Harry Potter wand....

Coins, pens, Harry Potter's glasses, house badges, etc.

I think I must have bored Ethan while we were there cos I was explaining what all the stuff was used for in the Harry Potter books lol, he didn't even ask me cos obviously he couldn't care less but I was just rambling away telling him what is used for what purpose like a geek lol.

That giraffe's out of control

We finally made our way out of Hamlet's!lol we were hungry for dinner and we were craving some good steak from the many steak places in London.

That's the very famous cupid statue, the story/superstition behind it is that if you sit under it and make a love related wish, you will get a lover in the next few days. Its something like that anyway, you can go google it.
Lol it could explain why theres a whole load of people sat under it.

Construction works everywhere!grrrrrrrrrr stop ruining the moment!

The steakhouse we went to was so friggin busy but omg the steak was really good but for some effed up reason we had to pay £2 each as a cover charge on top of the ridiculously priced steak, it wasnt even a special cut, it was just a ribeye steak aged for 21 days, just like any other place! So anyway, we asked the waitress(very rude, couldn't even understand simple English -_-) why we had to pay a cover charge and she said its meant to pay for the seats we were sat on. Omg unbelievable. I don't mind if its a posh restaurant, its an ordinary steakhouse! So if you want to have some nice steak in London, go to Frankie&Benny's or TGI Fridays, not the Aberdeen steakhouses you see in every corner! I know it sounds tight that Im making a big deal out of the cover charge but that place we went to was a casual place to eat in and not some michelin starred restaurant! These places need to inform people prior to seating them that they have to pay for their bum to be on their property and not sneakily tell them after that!-_-

We went back to our hotel after more wandering about London, we were tired though cos we did arrive in the evening to London so there was only so much we could do.

This is the bar area of our hotel(Travel Lodge), we had some drinks before going to bed.

Btw we skipped all the attractions in London cos we've been there loads and our plan was just to do sight seeing and shopping since the attractions aren't new to us anymore.

I'll post up day 2 & 3 soon!;)
